Keir in Cumbria!

I was delighted to meet Sir Keir Starmer on Thursday, as part of his visit to South Cumbria. I had the opportunity to talk to him about my campaign and my priorities for Westmorland and Lonsdale. Having spent holidays in the Langdales during his childhood, he understands the unique qualities and challenges of our area.

On Friday, Keir was the first Labour leader in 30 years to visit the shipyard in Barrow, where he affirmed his commitment to our national nuclear deterrent. He also announced that a Labour government would look to increase defence spending to 2.5% of GDP.
