Pippa and David Allen visit The Well

I was delighted to visit The Well’s Highgate Hotel in Kendal with Labour’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner candidate David Allen.

The Well is a lived experience recovery organisation, helping people across Lancashire and Cumbria recover from alcoholism and substance abuse. The Well provides a ‘day hab’ treatment service, as well as supported accommodation, peer support and access to employment opportunities.

In Kendal, The Well provide supported housing from Highgate Hotel. Ged gave us a tour of the hotel and told us how The Well offers a hand up for people in our area experiencing addiction, working in partnership with other services including the police and health.

We also had the chance to pop in to an event The Well was hosting at Brewery Arts on involving people with lived experience in health research.
